UNIQUE EXPERIENCES

These experiences differ from our city and museum tours and were conceived to provide a more in-depth experience of Parisian lifestyle. Experience authentic French activities, learn more about a specific theme, and discover remarkable parts of the city that only the most cultivated of locals would know of.

Here are some examples of experiences we have organized in the past that were particularly well-received by visitors. For more information on these activities or other possibilities, prices, availability, and bookings, please contact us here.

"Liberty, Equality, Fraternity"? LGBTQI+ tour

Explore Paris' LGBTQI+ scene

tourLGBTQIA.jpg

"Liberty, Equality, Fraternity" was one of the rallying cries during the French Revolution and it remains France’s national motto. Join this tour to learn about what this has meant to people in the Parisian LGBTQI+ community throughout the decades.

This 3-hour tour follows the history and struggles of Paris' truly international LGBTQI+ community, from the dawn of the 1900s to present day. Passing former literary salons, libraries, and cafés, you will learn the stories of Nathalie Clifford Barney, Simone de Beauvoir, Colette, Cocteau, Oscar Wilde, and Josephine Baker before ending the tour with a pastry and a drink in the community's most important current hang-out.

Père Lachaise: the celebrity cemetery

Discover Paris’ most charming and famous cemetery

pere_lachaise.jpg

A far cry from your average cemetery, Père Lachaise holds more than 200 years of Paris' history and culture. Isolated from the hustle and bustle of the city, we will venture through the cemetery’s labyrinthine paths to visit the tombs and stories of major personalities like Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Molière, Balzac, and Chopin.

Your guide will also share fascinating stories about lesser-known figures and some unusual tombs, including one where people leave potatoes instead of flowers, and another with paranormal powers. Like all our tours, this experience includes at least one tasting in a bar that is very typical of this highly popular neighbourhood—or perhaps a picnic,  weather permitting.

Pétanque and Apéritif

Learn this iconic French game on a historic square with an apéritif

petanque_aperitif-min.jpg

Have you ever heard of the French version of "bocce ball"? This game originated in Ancient Rome, arrived in Provence centuries ago, and subsequently became highly popular all over France. Nowadays, Paris is full of "boulistes" (pétanque players), and you will be one of them!

After getting some appetizers, your guide will take you to one of the best squares in the city to play pétanque, then get the game going with an authentic French "apéro". Be ready for snacks, drinks, and fun!

Classic Beer Tour

Take a plunge into the other beloved alcohol of the French

Classic_beer_tour.jpg

If you thought the French only drank wine, this 3-hour tour will definitely prove otherwise! This experience will show you how attached Parisians have (almost) always been to beer, and how the popularity of craft beer is still growing.

Your guide will take you from the a very traditional, historical brasserie, to the first micro-brewery in Paris, ending up in a craft beer dive bar in a medieval cellar. You will taste different beers at each stop and finish with a cheese platter that will open your eyes to how well cheese actually goes with beer!
